The
excitement is building in London now with the countdown well under way
for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. As part of the Games
coming to Stratford, there will be some changes to car park access at
Westfield Stratford City as we start to prepare for the world's greatest
sporting event!
From
the 18th June 2012, all car parks at Westfield Stratford City will be
closed to the public as we, the Official Shopping Centre Provider,
London 2012 Organising Committee, and the local councils start to
prepare Stratford for the forthcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games. All
car parks will remain closed until after the Paralympic Games and
further information will be sent out in August as well as being
communicated on our website.
During
this time vehicles will not be permitted to enter Westfield Stratford
City and the current access via Warton Road (off Stratford High Street),
Penny Brookes Street (off Angel Lane) and the A12 interchange will be
closed. The closest taxi rank is just minutes away, at Meridian Square,
adjacent to Stratford Regional Station.
Full details around the car park closures can be found here.
However access to the wonderful shopping, dining and leisure options at
Westfield Stratford City will still be open, and remain incredibly easy
to enjoy by arriving at the centre by public transport. The Central
line, Jubilee line, DLR and High Speed 1 will all be running excellent
services directly into Stratford and this will be further supported by
the existing bus network, London Overground, National Rail, as well as
taxis.
For real time public transport updates, download the Westfield Stratford City app. Not only will this provide updated transport information but you will also have access to centre maps and store listings and also retailer offers and future events at the centre.
We apologise for this disruption during the Olympic & Paralympic Games and we hope you will continue to visit Westfield Stratford City.
